What's Happening?
The 21st World U20 Championships, held at Hayward Field in Eugene from August 5 to 9, witnessed remarkable performances, including six world junior records, 11 championship records, and 17 continental junior records. African nations collectively secured
a total of 32 medals, comprising 12 gold, 9 silver, and 11 bronze. Kenya led the African contingent with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals, followed by Ethiopia, South Africa, Morocco, Uganda, Algeria, Egypt, and Nigeria, each contributing to the medal tally. The United States dominated the championships overall, winning 12 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
