CMA CGM Group, a France-based container shipping and logistics giant, has announced its agreement to acquire FedEx Supply Chain for $1.4 billion. This acquisition will significantly expand CMA CGM's presence in North American contract logistics, nearly
tripling the size of its logistics arm, CEVA Logistics. The deal is expected to close later this year, pending regulatory approvals. FedEx Supply Chain, which constitutes less than 2% of FedEx's consolidated annual revenue, will allow CMA CGM to operate about 150 warehouses, expanding CEVA's workforce to 20,000 people across more than 240 locations. The acquisition will also lead to multi-year commercial agreements between CMA CGM and FedEx related to air and ocean freight, enhancing their global networks.
