AMD has announced the Threadripper Halo Station, a new high-end, AI-centric developer workstation, at the IFA tech convention in Berlin. This full tower system is designed for local AI inference and development, featuring a Threadripper Pro CPU and Instinct
MI350P accelerators. Jack Huynh, AMD’s Senior VP and GM of their Computing and Graphics system, introduced the device, which aims to complement AMD’s existing Ryzen AI Halo box. Unlike the more compact Ryzen AI Halo, the Threadripper Halo Station targets the high-performance segment of the market, offering significantly greater processing power. The system will be equipped with a Threadripper Pro 9995WX processor, featuring 96 cores and 192 threads, and will include two or four liquid-cooled AMD Instinct MI350P accelerator cards, each with 144GB of HBM3E memory. The demo unit showcased an ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE motherboard and an unidentified SFP networking card, indicating a focus on high-speed connectivity.
