Applegate Farms, LLC, a prominent natural and organic meat brand, has announced new findings regarding the omega fatty acid composition of its Regenerative Organic Certified all-beef hot dogs. This release is part of the company's broader 'Regenerative
Health' mission initiative. Applegate partnered with Edacious, an ISO-accredited laboratory, to analyze the omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acid content. The testing revealed that the APPLEGATE ORGANICS® THE GREAT ORGANIC UNCURED BEEF HOT DOG® product has an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 1.3:1. This ratio is significantly lower than the 7.0:1 found in conventional grain-finished beef and 2.0:1 in grass-fed beef, indicating a more balanced proportion of omega-3 fatty acids. Joseph O’Connor, president of Applegate, emphasized the company's belief in the importance of how food is raised and its potential influence on nutritional characteristics. The beef used in these hot dogs is 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised, and certified regenerative.
