What's Happening?
WEKU, led by Executive Director Mike Savage, will broadcast five concerts by the Lexington Philharmonic (LexPhil) during the current season. These broadcasts will include two performances from LexPhil's 2025/2026 season and three from the upcoming 2026/2027
season. The first broadcast, 'American Stories,' the 2025/2026 season finale, is scheduled for September 13th at 8 p.m. on 88.9 WEKU and September 16th at 8 p.m. on WEKU Classical. This initiative continues a long-standing partnership between WEKU and LexPhil, aiming to share the orchestra's work with a broader audience across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Brooke Raby, Executive Director of the Lexington Philharmonic, emphasized that these broadcasts allow the orchestra to reach listeners who might not otherwise experience their performances.
