What's Happening?
Tesla has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with ContourGlobal for Project Sterling, a hybrid solar and battery energy storage project in Arizona. The agreement covers approximately 1 terawatt-hour per year of renewable energy, representing
90% of the project's annual output. Project Sterling combines 450 MWac of solar PV with 360 MW/1.4 GWh of battery storage capacity, making it ContourGlobal's largest renewable asset. The project is strategically located to serve Tesla's energy needs and is expected to be operational by 2028.
