VietJet Air has announced plans to launch a new route from Ho Chi Minh City to Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) starting January 10, 2027. Initially, the service will operate twice weekly, increasing to three times weekly by March. The route will be
serviced by Airbus A330 aircraft, each configured with 377 seats. This expansion is part of a broader strategy supported by the New South Wales Government's Western Sydney International Take-Off Fund. Additionally, Thai VietJet plans to introduce a four-times-weekly service from Bangkok to Western Sydney in November 2027, pending regulatory approval. WSI, which began cargo operations in July, is set to commence passenger services in October.
