Bvlgari has unveiled a new limited-edition timepiece, the Octo Finissimo Dual Time x Vianney Halter, resulting from a three-year collaboration with independent watchmaker Vianney Halter. This partnership marks a significant development for Bvlgari's Octo Finissimo line,
as it extends beyond aesthetic design to include the co-creation of a new movement. Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bvlgari’s Executive Director of Product Creation, and Vianney Halter worked together to integrate Halter's distinctive retro-futurist aesthetics, characterized by riveted portholes and asymmetric displays, with the Octo Finissimo's geometric architecture. The watch features four opaline white subdials for local time, home time, day/night indication, and date, with uniquely shaped, flame-blued hands. This collaboration led to the development of the new automatic BVF 200 caliber, which incorporates GMT, date, and day/night functions into the base BVL 138 caliber. The resulting movement measures 5.49mm, and despite the added complexity, the watch maintains the Octo Finissimo's svelte silhouette with a 40.5mm case diameter and 9.7mm thickness. Two versions are available: sandblasted titanium and sandblasted and vertically brushed rose gold, with limited editions of 30 and 15 pieces, respectively.
