Mark Harris, a self-taught filmmaker from Englewood on the South Side of Chicago, has written, directed, and produced more than 20 independent films since his first feature in 2005. Harris did not attend film school but was mentored by Ricardo Islas,
Barry Bowles, Brett Dismuke, and Martin Jones. He specializes in independent films that focus on Black stories, relationships, culture, and thought-provoking subjects.
