BNP Paribas Cardif, a French insurer, has announced the acquisition of a 26% stake in Indiafirst Life from private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Following the transaction, Bank of Baroda will hold 65% of Indiafirst Life, Union Bank of India will own 9%,
and BNP Paribas Cardif will possess the remaining shares. The acquisition aims to leverage Bank of Baroda's extensive branch network and BNP Paribas Cardif's global expertise in bancassurance to accelerate the growth of Indiafirst Life, which is the 12th largest private life insurance company in India.
