What's Happening?
Invest Atlanta's Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing $130.4 million in financing for 2026. This program is instrumental in promoting sustainable economic development across Atlanta and
Georgia. Mayor Andre Dickens, who also serves as Board Chair of Invest Atlanta, highlighted the program's success in financing sustainable growth. The C-PACE program is designed to help commercial property owners incorporate energy efficiency, water conservation, and resiliency improvements into their projects. Recent transactions include a $10 million financing for Pullman Yards and a $56.4 million financing for The CTR, supporting energy efficiency and modernization improvements. The program is expanding statewide, with Putnam County joining as the second local government participant.
Why It's Important?
The C-PACE program is crucial for advancing sustainable development in Atlanta and Georgia. By providing financing for energy-efficient and resilient projects, it helps reduce operating costs and environmental impact. The program's expansion into Putnam County signifies a growing acceptance of sustainable financing solutions. This initiative not only supports economic growth but also positions Georgia as a leader in innovative economic development finance. The projects funded by C-PACE demonstrate the potential for significant energy and water savings, contributing to environmental sustainability and economic resilience.
What's Next?
Invest Atlanta plans to continue expanding the C-PACE program across Georgia, encouraging more local governments to participate. This expansion aims to unlock private capital for clean energy investments, further establishing a statewide market for sustainable development financing. As more communities join the program, it is expected to drive further economic and environmental benefits, setting a precedent for other regions to follow.
