Pakistan's Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Secretary, Mr. Muhammad Humair Karim Kidwai, met with Dr. Khalid Khalafalla, CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), to enhance cooperation under the Pakistan -
IsDB Group Member Country Partnership Strategy (MCPS) 2026–2030. The discussions focused on expanding ICIEC's insurance, reinsurance, and credit-enhancement instruments to mobilize private investment in Pakistan. Priority areas identified include export-oriented industries, strategic infrastructure, renewable energy, and food security, aligning with Pakistan's URAAN 5Es framework (Exports, E-Pakistan, Environment, Energy & Infrastructure, and Equity & Empowerment). The meeting culminated in the signing of the ICIEC–EXIM Bank Pakistan Strategic Reinsurance Agreement, aimed at strengthening export-credit protection and supporting Pakistani exporters.
