What's Happening?
The Boardwalk Residences, part of the $1 billion Ovation development in Newport, have been completed after nearly four years of construction. Developed by Corporex, the luxury condominium complex consists of three buildings with 88 units, and is now about
80% sold. The development is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Licking rivers and aims to provide residents with easy access to urban amenities in Newport and downtown Cincinnati. The first phase of Ovation included the MegaCorp Pavilion and a parking garage, while the second phase added a Class A office building and a hotel. The next phase will focus on mixed-use residential towers, although no construction timeline has been announced.
Why It's Important?
The completion of the Boardwalk Residences marks a significant milestone in the Ovation development, which is one of the largest mixed-use projects in the region. This development is expected to boost the local economy by attracting new residents and businesses to the area. The project's focus on luxury living and urban accessibility reflects broader trends in real estate, where there is increasing demand for walkable, mixed-use communities. The success of Ovation could serve as a model for similar developments in other urban areas, potentially influencing future urban planning and development strategies.
What's Next?
With the Boardwalk Residences now complete, Corporex will shift its focus to the next phase of the Ovation development, which includes mixed-use residential towers. While no official timeline has been set, planning is underway to determine the specifics of this phase. The continued development of Ovation is likely to attract further investment and interest in the Newport area, potentially leading to additional projects and economic growth. As the development progresses, it will be important to monitor its impact on the local community and economy.
