The No. 19 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team secured its 12th consecutive victory by sweeping Winona State, with set scores of 25-21, 25-11, and 25-19, at McCown Gymnasium. This win elevates the Bulldogs' overall record to 16-1 and their
Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play record to 9-0. UMD is now one of only two teams, alongside No. 2 Wayne State, to remain undefeated in NSIC play. The team demonstrated strong performance with 10 service aces, following a game where they posted their most service aces in 21 years. Madeline Guetzkow led the team with 11 kills, three block assists, and six digs. Paige Deck contributed with 10 kills and three total blocks, while Elyse Karrels hit .583 with eight kills and five block assists. Ava Jones distributed 34 assists, helping the Bulldogs achieve a .315 hitting percentage as a team. The Bulldogs will return to Romano Gymnasium for Homecoming/Alumni Weekend, hosting Minnesota State on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 15 St. Cloud State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
