Costco Wholesale is set to open a new 160,000-square-foot warehouse in Camarillo, California, on October 30, following years of litigation. The development was initially approved by the Camarillo Planning Commission in 2023, with an anticipated opening
in 2024. However, a community group, Ventura County Citizens Against Mega Gas, sued the city in 2024, alleging an insufficient environmental review. A Ventura County Superior Court judge initially ruled in favor of the city, and an appeals court upheld this decision earlier this year, clearing the way for the opening. The new facility, located on West Ventura Boulevard, will include a food court, bakery, pharmacy, optical center, hearing aid center, tire service center, and a 32-pump gas station, which began operations in May. It will also offer a wider product selection, including sushi, and provide over 877 parking spots.
