What's Happening?
EPAM Systems, Inc. has announced a collaboration with Wiz, a cloud and AI security leader, to help organizations reduce cloud risk and strengthen cyber resilience. This partnership integrates Wiz’s AI Application
Protection Platform (AI-APP) with EPAM’s AI-native engineering and cloud modernization capabilities. The goal is to enable enterprises to move beyond mere risk detection to continuous, AI-powered remediation across complex multi-cloud environments, including Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. Wiz’s platform, powered by the Wiz Security Graph, offers a contextualized view of cloud assets, configurations, relationships, and potential attack paths across various environments. EPAM will leverage this intelligence within its broader cloud modernization and security programs to operationalize a full cloud security loop. The collaboration also involves Wiz’s AI agents, which provide an automated workflow layer to accelerate key stages of the security lifecycle, such as validating exploitable paths, supporting root-cause remediation, and investigating runtime threats.
Why It's Important?
This partnership is significant for U.S. businesses as it addresses the growing challenge of managing cloud security in increasingly complex and AI-driven environments. Many organizations struggle to translate risk visibility into effective action, leading to vulnerabilities. By combining Wiz's advanced risk intelligence with EPAM's engineering expertise, companies can identify, prioritize, and address critical risks more efficiently. This shift from reactive vulnerability management to sustained cyber resilience is crucial for maintaining operational integrity and fostering confidence in cloud and AI transformations. The collaboration aims to reduce the time and resources spent on remediation efforts, allowing businesses to innovate faster without compromising security. Furthermore, the integration of AI agents for automated workflows can significantly enhance the speed and accuracy of security operations, which is vital in an era of rapidly evolving cyber threats.
What's Next?
The collaboration will see EPAM delivering Wiz implementation programs for enterprise organizations across various industry verticals, including media and entertainment, transportation and logistics, life sciences and healthcare, financial services, automotive, and retail and consumer goods. EPAM will also integrate findings from the Wiz platform to inform application modernization, cloud architecture, and remediation work. An EPAM company, White Hat, will add an offensive-security layer with experts to assess whether identified weaknesses can be exploited, helping clients distinguish between potential exposure and actual risks requiring immediate engineering action. This comprehensive approach aims to provide ongoing support for addressing critical vulnerabilities, verifying the effectiveness of fixes, and integrating complementary security capabilities, ultimately moving clients towards a more robust and continuous cyber resilience operating model.
Beyond the Headlines
The partnership between EPAM and Wiz highlights a broader trend in cybersecurity: the increasing reliance on AI and automation to combat sophisticated threats. As cloud adoption and AI integration accelerate, the traditional methods of security management are proving insufficient. This collaboration underscores the necessity of a 'code-to-cloud' security approach, where vulnerabilities are tracked and remediated from the development phase through runtime. The ethical implications of AI in security are also at play, as AI agents are designed to make autonomous decisions in identifying and mitigating threats. Ensuring these AI systems are robust, unbiased, and transparent will be critical. Moreover, the partnership emphasizes the importance of integrating security into the core of cloud modernization programs, rather than treating it as an afterthought, fostering a culture of 'secure-by-design' in enterprise development.
