A study by Alchemer reveals a growing generational divide in traveler preferences, with vacation rentals surpassing hotels in guest loyalty. The study, based on a survey of 1,014 U.S. travelers, highlights that younger travelers under 30 are increasingly
opting for vacation rentals due to their preference for space and privacy. In contrast, travelers aged 61 and older continue to favor hotels for their consistency and brand trust. Cleanliness emerged as the top factor influencing traveler satisfaction, with 63% of respondents ranking it above cost and value. The study also found that vacation rentals achieved a higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) than hotels, indicating greater guest loyalty.
