What's Happening?
TEDx events are independently organized gatherings that aim to provide a TED-like experience, combining TED Talks videos and live speakers to spark deep discussions and connections. These events have been instrumental in building communities and inspiring
individuals worldwide. Thiri Thant Mon reflects on her experiences with TEDx, highlighting the joy and inspiration she has gained from organizing and attending these events. She recalls organizing the first TEDxInyaLake event in Yangon with a group of extraordinary women and continuing to host TEDxYangon events even during the COVID-19 lockdown through online series. The TEDx platform has allowed her to meet inspiring people and create memorable experiences, such as attending the TEDSummit 2016 in Banff, where she felt globally connected to the community.
Why It's Important?
TEDx events play a crucial role in fostering community engagement and intellectual exchange. They provide a platform for individuals to share ideas and stories that can inspire change and innovation. By bringing together diverse groups of people, TEDx events encourage collaboration and the sharing of knowledge across different fields and cultures. This can lead to new partnerships, projects, and initiatives that have the potential to make a significant impact on society. Additionally, TEDx events help to democratize access to ideas, allowing people from various backgrounds to participate in meaningful conversations and contribute to the global dialogue on important issues.
