Shannon Wommack, a highly decorated student-athlete from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), was inducted into the Southern Conference (SoCon) Hall of Fame in 2011. Her collegiate career, spanning from 2003 to 2006, saw her earn four All-American
honors. Wommack was a nine-time Southern Conference Runner of the Year, securing the title three times in Cross Country (2002, 2004, 2005) and four times in Indoor Track, in addition to outdoor honors as a junior and senior. She achieved All-American status in Cross Country in 2004 and 2005, finishing 21st and 19th respectively. In the NCAA Outdoor Championships, she placed fifth in the 3000M Steeplechase in 2005 and third in the same event in 2006.
