What's Happening?
The Mobile County Sportsplex Soccer Complex in Mobile, Alabama, has officially opened four new lighted and sodded fields, along with a second restroom/concession building and a new 300-space parking lot. This expansion, part of Phase II development, increases
the complex's operational capacity from three to seven fields. The nearly $11.7 million investment by the Mobile County Commission aims to accommodate a wider range of field sports, including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football, and Ultimate Frisbee. Mobile County Commission President Connie Hudson stated that these new fields will provide additional opportunities for young athletes and families, while also enhancing Mobile County's ability to host regional tournaments, thereby boosting local economic activity.
