What's Happening?
Demon Music Group is set to release a limited edition vinyl LP and CD box set of the original 1981 BBC Radio full-cast dramatisation of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings'. This release will present
the series in its original 26-episode format for the first time on vinyl and CD. The production features notable actors such as Ian Holm as Frodo and Michael Hordern as Gandalf. The box set includes 14 LPs with clear and forged gold colored vinyl, a standalone disc of the series' soundtrack by Stephen Oliver, and newly commissioned artwork. The set is elegantly packaged, individually numbered, and includes a booklet with behind-the-scenes photos and notes by dramatist Brian Sibley. The release is scheduled for December 4, 2026, and is available for pre-order.
