Employee-led conservation projects across ten Domtar mills have resulted in an annual reduction of over 2.3 billion gallons of water since 2023. This achievement contributes to the company's goal of decreasing water-use intensity by 20% by 2030, compared
to 2020 levels. The initiative is driven by Domtar's Water Reduction Capex Fund, which allocates capital specifically for water-conservation projects proposed by mill teams. Since its inception, 24 projects have been completed, leading to water savings equivalent to approximately 3,480 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
