What's Happening?
The governments of Belize and the Republic of China, Taiwan, have signed a new three-million-U.S.-dollar agreement to support women and young entrepreneurs in Belize. This initiative, named the Belize Women and Youth MSMEs Development Project, aims to strengthen
and grow businesses by providing training, business guidance, and support. The project will help entrepreneurs improve their businesses, access new markets, and create jobs. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Francis Fonseca, highlighted the initiative as a continuation of Belize's partnership with Taiwan, expecting it to generate greater opportunities for local entrepreneurs. Ambassador of the Republic of China, Taiwan, His Excellency Amino Chi, emphasized Taiwan's commitment to sharing its expertise to train women and youth in entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and business development across sectors like tourism and indigenous handicraft building.
