What's Happening?
OD6 Metals has submitted a plan of operations to the United States Forest Service (USFS) for its maiden drilling and bulk-sampling program at the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, US. The plan outlines up to 139 drill pads across priority target areas
at Quinn. The proposed program aims to gather geological, grade, and continuity data necessary to support a future mineral resource estimate. Managing Director Brett Hazelden stated that this submission is a significant milestone, moving the company closer to drilling what it considers an exceptional high-grade fluorspar opportunity. The plan is designed to provide a permitting framework to systematically define the high-grade fluorspar systems at Quinn and obtain representative bulk material for metallurgical and beneficiation programs. The extensive fluorspar mineralization at Quinn, which is visible from the surface, remains largely untested by drilling, with only four shallow historical drill holes at the Horseshoe prospect. The initial drilling will focus on the Horseshoe, Mammoth, and Big Jim areas, and the submission also seeks approval for bulk sampling to support ore sorting, beneficiation, and metallurgical test work.

This development is important for the U.S. as fluorspar is classified as a critical mineral, and the U.S. currently imports 100% of its supply. The Quinn Fluorspar Project, located approximately 220km north of Las Vegas, hosts multiple high-grade fluorspar deposits. The USFS has an initial 30-day review period after receiving the submission, as per 36 CFR Part 228 Subpart A — Locatable Minerals regulations. Additionally, OD6 Metals has initiated discussions regarding potential future inclusion in the FAST-41 Transparency Program, which aims to streamline the federal environmental review and permitting process for certain infrastructure projects. The next steps will involve the USFS's review of the submitted plan and reports, followed by a decision on the drilling and bulk-sampling program approval. If approved, OD6 Metals will proceed with the drilling to establish the necessary data for a mineral resource estimate.
