Cal State Fullerton has announced the appointment of Shondell Reed as its new athletic director. President Ronald Rochon made the announcement via email on Friday. Reed, an alumnus of Cal State Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in communications and
journalism from 1995, brings two decades of experience in intercollegiate athletics leadership to the role. He is currently serving as the senior associate athletic director for the United States Air Force Academy, where he oversees multiple sports, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, men's lacrosse, fencing, and rifle. Reed is set to officially assume his new position as athletic director on August 31, 2026. His appointment is intended to build upon the legacy established by Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jim Donovan, who served for 14 years.
