Perigus Energy, formerly Ørsted Onshore Europe, has announced the appointment of Tom O’Brien as its new independent chairperson and non-executive director. O’Brien, a veteran in the renewables sector, previously served as Managing Partner of Brookfield
Asset Management, where he led the European renewable business as CEO until his retirement in March 2025. Since then, he has continued to provide strategic guidance and governance oversight as a senior adviser and consultant. In addition to O’Brien's appointment, Perigus Energy has promoted Eamonn Boland to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer and welcomed Declan McCarthy as Chief Financial Officer. Both Boland and McCarthy will be based at the company’s Cork headquarters. These appointments aim to strengthen the strategic management team as Perigus Energy progresses a multi-gigawatt portfolio of projects across Europe.
