What's Happening?
Kioxia has unveiled its new PCIe 6.0 SSD series, capable of reading speeds exceeding 28 GByte/s, targeting enterprise workloads such as AI inference and large KV-caches. The CM10 series utilizes 332-layer TLC-NAND from the tenth BiCS-Flash generation
and is available in server form factors E3.S, E1.S, and a 2.5-inch variant. While the E3.S and E1.S models support PCIe 6.0, the 2.5-inch version remains PCIe 5.0 compatible. The series promises significant performance improvements over previous models, with up to 92% more sequential and 85% more random read performance.
