What's Happening?
Reichman University, in collaboration with the monday.com Foundation, has launched a unique course where students are tasked with distributing a budget of NIS 500,000 to various non-profit organizations. This initiative, now in its second year, aims to educate
future business leaders on the importance of strategic philanthropy. Students learn to evaluate social impact, allocate resources, and measure the effectiveness of their donations. The course focuses on social mobility, with students assessing over 120 applications from non-profits and ultimately deciding on the allocation of funds. The program is designed to transform philanthropy from a goodwill gesture into a strategic, data-driven process.
Why It's Important?
This course represents a shift in how philanthropy is approached in educational settings, emphasizing the need for strategic thinking and impact measurement. By involving students in real-world decision-making, the program prepares them for future roles in business and social sectors where corporate social responsibility is increasingly important. The initiative also highlights the growing trend of integrating social impact into business education, reflecting a broader societal shift towards accountability and measurable outcomes in philanthropy. This approach not only benefits the students but also the non-profits involved, as it encourages more effective and impactful use of donated resources.
