Jeppesen has introduced a new feature in its FliteDeck Pro software to help flight crews manage GPS interference, which has become a routine challenge in international operations. The feature, known as Enroute Intelligence, displays GPS jamming and spoofing
information directly on the enroute map, allowing crews to plan around interference-prone airspace rather than diagnose it in flight. This development comes in response to a significant increase in GPS interference incidents, with OPSGROUP reporting a rise from 300 to 1,500 affected flights per day by August 2024. The interference is most common in conflict zones such as the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Middle East. The new feature aims to provide crews with awareness before entering affected areas, thus reducing the safety risks associated with unexpected GPS signal loss.
