Mediar Therapeutics has commenced a Phase 1 clinical trial for MTX-439, a novel monoclonal antibody designed to treat fibrosis associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The trial aims to assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of MTX-439 in healthy
volunteers and adults with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). This development marks the third anti-fibrotic program from Mediar's pipeline to enter clinical trials. Concurrently, Mediar has expanded its clinical advisory board to include leading experts in CKD to guide the Phase 2a development. The trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, reflecting Mediar's commitment to addressing the unmet needs in CKD treatment, a condition affecting over 10% of the global population.
