that 75% to 80% of medtech products, excluding personal protective equipment and consumables, rely on memory chips. This scarcity is driven by increased global demand from artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data centers, leading to longer lead times, allocation limits, and sharp price increases. A recent AdvaMed survey revealed that 75% of respondents reported memory chip-related constraints, 88% experienced price increases, and 63% faced supplier allocation challenges. Many companies are uncertain about procuring sufficient chips to avoid supply chain disruptions, with 56% expressing significant concern about overall memory chip supply chain stability.
