At the 2026 U17 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan, U.S. wrestlers Rylen Wax and Salah Tsarni each earned silver medals in their respective weight categories. Wax, competing in the 45 kg category, was defeated by Puerto Rico's Nelson Villafane III
with a score of 7-1. This match marked Wax's attempt to become the fourth wrestler to win two U17/Cadet World titles in the same year, following his earlier gold in Greco-Roman wrestling. Tsarni, competing in the 92 kg category, lost to Russia's Abdurazak Shabanov, who overcame a 3-0 deficit to win 9-4. The U.S. team finished seventh overall in the team standings, with Russia taking the team title. Across all disciplines, Team USA secured a total of 12 medals, including five golds.
