The New York Red Bulls have officially transferred midfielder Dennis Gjengaar to the Norwegian Eliteserien side Vålerenga. Gjengaar, 22, joined the Red Bulls on February 16, 2024, and spent three seasons with the club. During his tenure, he made 52 appearances
across all competitions, contributing six goal involvements. His first career MLS goal was scored against Toronto FC on June 22, 2024, and he recorded his first MLS assist against FC Cincinnati on July 20, 2024. This season, Gjengaar also played in 18 matches for Red Bull New York II in MLS NEXT Pro, where he accumulated five goals and eight assists, including his first career MLS NEXT Pro brace on August 23 in a 5-1 victory over Toronto FC II.
