What's Happening?
The ProAmpac Stadium is undergoing significant renovations in preparation for the 2026/27 season. The upgrades include the installation of new floodlights, the construction of a new venue capable of hosting up to 500 guests, and the addition of three
big screens, with one located in the north-west corner of the stadium. The Greenlinc Renewables Stand is receiving new seating and a fresh coat of paint, while the GBM Stand is also being painted. A new community space and coffee shop, known as the Clubhouse, has already opened for a soft launch. Future plans involve installing solar panels and a new public address system. Due to these renovations, the club shop, ticket office, and Clubhouse will be temporarily closed, with a pop-up club shop available at the Waterside Shopping Centre.
Why It's Important?
These renovations are crucial for enhancing the fan experience and modernizing the stadium facilities. The addition of new venues and big screens will likely attract more visitors and events, boosting local economic activity. The installation of solar panels reflects a commitment to sustainability, aligning with broader environmental goals. The temporary closure of key facilities may inconvenience fans, but the long-term benefits of improved infrastructure and amenities are expected to outweigh these short-term disruptions. The upgrades also position the stadium as a more competitive venue for hosting larger events, potentially increasing its revenue streams.
What's Next?
The renovations are scheduled to be completed by mid-July, with the new season set to begin shortly after. Fans can expect improved facilities and a more engaging match-day experience. The club will continue to communicate with fans regarding the progress of the renovations and any changes to access or services. The pop-up club shop will remain operational to ensure fans can still purchase merchandise. As the stadium enhancements are finalized, the club may explore additional opportunities to host events and community activities, further integrating the stadium into the local community.
