What's Happening?
Allseas, a Dutch offshore contractor, has completed a significant upgrade of its pipelay vessel, Solitaire, after 10 months of work in Rotterdam. The upgrade involved modernizing the vessel's propulsion, power generation, automation, and hybrid power systems,
along with enhancements to its double joint factory (DJF). These improvements aim to support a more automated and data-driven pipelay process, enhancing reliability and efficiency. Solitaire is set to return to commercial service in the Gulf of Mexico for an ultra-deepwater pipeline project, followed by a two-year campaign across West Africa, Taiwan, and Australia.
