train rides on the Milan metro, where a pregnant woman boarded the train, and an observer recorded whether someone offered their seat. In the experimental condition, a person dressed as Batman also boarded the train. The results showed a notable increase in prosocial behavior, with 67.21% of passengers offering their seat when Batman was present, compared to 37.66% when he was not. The study suggests that the superhero's presence may enhance cultural values and norms of chivalrous help, or it may disrupt routine scripts, increasing present-moment awareness.
