Giant Food has announced the closure of its Nottingham store located at 7920-30 Belair Road in the Putty Hill Plaza shopping center. The store, which has served the Baltimore County community for nearly 50 years, will cease operations on August 6, closing
at 6 p.m. on its final day. According to Giant spokesperson Jonathan Arons, the decision was made after evaluating the business and local trade areas, determining that the community can be adequately served by other nearby Giant locations and online services. Prescriptions from the store's pharmacy will be transferred to other Giant locations based on customers' addresses, with the option for customers to choose their preferred Giant pharmacy. Employees at the Nottingham store are being offered opportunities to transfer to other Giant stores. Giant Food, headquartered in Prince George's County, operates over 90 locations in Maryland, as well as stores in Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
