USDA projections indicate a roughly 31% decline in planted rice acres this year compared to last year's 1.3 million acres, yet Arkansas remains historically the largest rice-producing state in the U.S. In 2024, Arkansas's agricultural exports totaled $4.1 billion, with rice being the top export valued at $1.1 billion. Japan was among the top four major foreign investors in Arkansas in the same year.
