Parx Racing, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association, has announced the addition of the Stable Recovery Stakes to its Pennsylvania Derby Day card on September 19. This new listed stakes race, for 4-year-olds and up, will
cover 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track and feature a purse of $150,000. All nomination fees for the race will be donated to Stable Recovery, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery within the equine industry, with Parx Racing and the Horsemen matching these donations. Stable Recovery, founded in 2022, has seen significant growth, graduating 137 residents from its School of Horsemanship, with 99% securing employment in the equine industry. The program also boasts 44 'Legacy graduates' who have completed the full one-year recovery program and are building stable lives. Joe Wilson, COO of Parx Racing, expressed pride in partnering with Stable Recovery to highlight their mission and positive impact on such a prominent day.
