What's Happening?
ALTAWKILAT Motorsport has announced the introduction of Motor Mania GT, a new GT race series that will serve as an official support series to the Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship. This initiative is part of a broader effort to expand the motorsport
platform across Saudi Arabia and Qatar, providing more opportunities for drivers, teams, and enthusiasts to engage in competitive circuit racing. The series will feature a 12-car, multi-class grid with vehicles from brands like Ferrari, Radical, McLaren, and Ginetta. The event will include practice, qualifying, and race sessions, all under the regulations of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF).
Why It's Important?
The launch of Motor Mania GT is significant as it aims to enhance the motorsport ecosystem in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. By providing a structured and professional environment for GT racing, the series is expected to attract more participants and fans, thereby boosting the region's motorsport profile. This development could lead to increased investment in the motorsport industry, creating economic opportunities and fostering a culture of racing in the region. It also aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and promote sports and entertainment.
What's Next?
Registration for Motor Mania GT will open soon, with limited grid places available. Further details on registration will be announced in due course. The series will kick off with events scheduled at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and Lusail International Circuit later in 2026. As the series progresses, it is expected to draw attention from international motorsport communities, potentially leading to collaborations and partnerships that could further elevate the region's status in the global motorsport arena.
