The San Jose Sharks have announced the re-signing of forward Ethan Cardwell to a one-year, two-way contract. Cardwell, who is 23 years old, spent the majority of the past season with the San Jose Barracuda, the Sharks' AHL affiliate. During his time with the Barracuda, he played
in 24 games and accumulated 15 points, consisting of seven goals and eight assists. Cardwell also had a notable three-game point streak, which included two multi-point games. He was recalled to the Sharks for seven games this season, where he scored his first NHL point, a goal, against the Seattle Kraken. Over his professional career, Cardwell has played in 13 NHL games, scoring two goals, and has participated in 158 AHL games, recording 106 points. Originally from Oshawa, Ontario, Cardwell was drafted by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.
