What's Happening?
Ankh Resources, a UK-based company, has completed its maiden diamond drilling program at the Wadi Dara Concession in Egypt's Eastern Desert. The program consisted of 17 drill holes, aimed at confirming the down-dip continuity of high-grade trench results
and testing the lateral extent of the mineralized system. The drilling revealed significant gold and copper mineralization across multiple sections, with notable intercepts including high-grade gold and copper. The results have confirmed mineralization along a strike of over 600 meters within Target Area A, with mineralization remaining open in both directions and at depth.
Why It's Important?
The successful completion of this initial drilling program is a significant milestone for Ankh Resources, as it provides valuable geological data that enhances the company's understanding of the mineralized system at Wadi Dara. The findings suggest a potentially extensive gold and copper mineralized system, which could lead to further exploration and development opportunities. This discovery is important for the mining industry in Egypt, as it highlights the potential for significant mineral resources in the region, which could attract further investment and contribute to the local economy.
What's Next?
Ankh Resources plans to conduct a Phase 2 drilling program, which will include step-out drilling along the confirmed mineralized corridor, initial testing of Target Area B, and targeted infill drilling to improve geological confidence. The company aims to expand the known footprint of mineralization and further evaluate the project's potential. The results from the Phase 1 program will guide the design of the next phase, with the goal of advancing towards a maiden mineral resource estimate.
