Periplast (Global) Limited, a Hong Kong-based company, has announced the international expansion of its zro% brand, introducing periamyl®, a 100% natural, corn-starch-based material designed to eliminate microplastics from the global supply chain. This
innovation is positioned as a sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics and Polylactic Acid (PLA). The material is certified for home composting and marine-degradable, breaking down in seawater within three months. Periplast's periamyl® is already being used in products like ice cream spoons and cutlery, offering a balance of durability and biodegradability. The company aims to expand its application range to include packaging and other high-volume single-use items, emphasizing a 'zero excuse' approach to sustainability.
