What's Happening?
Heather Hoytink, a seasoned executive from PepsiCo, is set to join The Hershey Co. as the president of its US business starting July 8. Hoytink, who currently serves as the senior vice president and chief commercial officer for US away-from-home beverages
at PepsiCo, will oversee Hershey's US commercial operations. Her appointment follows the departure of Andrew Archambault, who left Hershey to join Nutrabolt. Hoytink brings over 20 years of experience from PepsiCo, where she held various leadership roles, including president of the South Division for PepsiCo Beverages North America.
Why It's Important?
Hoytink's transition to Hershey marks a significant leadership change in the company, potentially impacting its strategic direction and growth in the US market. Her extensive experience in sales and operations at PepsiCo is expected to drive Hershey's growth across its confection, salty, and protein snacking portfolios. This move is part of Hershey's broader strategy to unify its sweet, salty, and protein businesses under a single US commercial operating structure, known as ONE Hershey. Hoytink's leadership could enhance Hershey's market position and foster innovation in product offerings and customer engagement.
What's Next?
As Hoytink assumes her new role, she is expected to focus on advancing Hershey's ONE Hershey commercial model and driving growth across various channels, including away-from-home, omnichannel, and digital platforms. Her leadership will likely involve building strong customer relationships and exploring new market opportunities. The industry will be watching how Hoytink's strategies influence Hershey's performance and competitive standing in the snacking industry. Stakeholders, including investors and partners, will be keen to see how her leadership impacts the company's financial results and market share.
