Chicago-based indie rock band Friko has expanded its musical sound with the addition of guitarist Korgan Robb, joining lead singer and guitarist Niko Kapetan. This change has allowed the band to explore a fuller and more complex sound, as demonstrated
in their latest album, 'Something Worth Waiting For.' The band has utilized a combination of traditional Fender Deluxe and Princeton amps along with small lunchbox amps to achieve their distinctive sound. A key component of their sound is a rare pedal designed by Jay Andersen, which emulates the warm, fuzzy tones of a Tascam preamp. This pedal, described as a 'white box pedal with Sharpie on it,' is considered the crown jewel of their setup. The band also incorporates modern boutique pedals, such as the Red Panda Tensor, which allows for tape loop effects and modulation, adding to their dynamic sound.
