The supply chain for capacitors, particularly multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), is becoming a significant focus in the AI economy, with a growing thematic bet in the market. These components are crucial for stabilizing the intense power demands of
AI data centers. Recent reports have highlighted a bottleneck in the capacitor market, with some referring to it as 'the rice' of the AI buildout. Taiyo Yuden's CEO noted 'scary' levels of demand, especially with the introduction of advanced chips like Nvidia's Rubin. Murata, the largest MLCC manufacturer, forecasts annual MLCC shipment growth of approximately 30% through 2030, tripling 2025 levels.
