Jim Nollman, a composer known for his innovative collaborations with animals, is set to release a new album titled 'Orcas' Greatest Hits' on August 14. The album, produced by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, features recordings of orca vocalizations captured
off the coast of British Columbia between 1985 and 2002. Nollman used underwater microphones to record the orcas, who responded to music played through underwater speakers. This project is part of Nollman's long-standing interest in interspecies communication, having previously worked with animals like turkeys and dolphins.
