Polestar authorization to sell vehicles under the Connected Vehicle Rule. This rule, established during the Biden administration and maintained under President Trump, prohibits connected vehicle manufacturers owned or controlled by China or Russia from operating in the U.S. due to national security concerns. Polestar, majority-owned by Chinese automaker Geely, is affected by this rule. Despite this, Polestar's vehicles sold in the U.S. are not manufactured in China; the Polestar 3 is produced in South Carolina, and the Polestar 4 in South Korea.
