CATL, a leading battery manufacturer, has been awarded the 2026 Volkswagen Group Award for its exceptional performance in battery technology research and development, supply chain stability, and global
execution. This recognition marks CATL as the only power battery manufacturer from mainland China to receive this honor. Since 2018, CATL has been supplying NCM battery cells for Volkswagen's MEB platform, and the partnership has expanded to include the mass production of Volkswagen's Unified Cell. To date, CATL has delivered over 200GWh of battery cells, powering 45 models across eight Volkswagen brands. The company plans to deepen its collaboration with Volkswagen, supporting the automaker's transition to electrification and the large-scale production of sustainable vehicles.
