P. Murphy Cancer Foundation's Center for Exceptional Longevity Studies used elderly female Rottweilers to investigate the relationship between reproduction and aging. The study assessed frailty using a 34-item clinical index and found that female dogs that had given birth were more than three times as likely to maintain health in old age compared to those that had not.
